Speaker 1:

Hey, this is Chaz back again with another episode of Law have Mercy. This is a public service announcement and the purpose of this podcast is to kind of tell you guys where I'm headed in the new direction of Law have Mercy. We are going to be making some changes. It's time. We're almost two years into this thing and it's been a blast, it's been a lot of fun. Thank you all for listening.

Speaker 1:

I think we've filled the airwaves with an immense amount of information, but it is time to go in a new direction. So we have brought on lawyers and family lawyers, criminal lawyers, intellectual property lawyers and, of course, we've banged the personal injury law drum to a pulp. But I have changed. I think we all change, but I have changed sort of my interest along the way. Obviously, I'm still a lawyer. Obviously I'm always going to be very passionate about law and that's going to be a foundation of everything I talk about. But it's time to pivot.

Speaker 1:

Being a lawyer, having a podcast, having a social media, that has exposed me to so many different types of wonderful people who are not just lawyers. I've met great entertainers like Cupid and Gerald Grunig, and athletes and business owners and entrepreneurs and experts in many different areas and I want to showcase those guys and ladies, because what I realize is that as an audience, you guys are super interested in law, but that's kind of hard to consume, right? And unless you have that particular need on that particular day, it may not interest you. On that particular day it may not interest you, but being exposed to all these wonderful people, I can get nuggets from all of these people who can give to you the audience, and so I'm kind of shifting gears and so like. Let me give you an example. I'm interested in entrepreneurship, small business, right. What does it take to start a business? What does it take to thrive in a business? The branding that comes along, the social media aspect, all those things. You may be an employee somewhere and eventually are interested in starting your own business. I can bring on entrepreneurs and talk about that sort of thing and you may find a tremendous amount of value and these are very interesting people.

Speaker 1:

Let's talk about health, right. What does it take? Obviously, you know that's one of my three buckets, the health bucket. I'm an avid runner. I run marathons. I just ran my last New York marathon, brought my kids there a few weeks ago. It was amazing. There's some travel component to it that may interest you. You may want to talk about New York City and what it's like. You may want to talk about what it's like to run 26 miles. Well, let's talk about health. How can we put good food in our bodies? How can we get on a consistent workout routine? That's another topic that we can maybe discuss.

Speaker 1:

What about wealth? How do we make money besides our day jobs? How do we make money besides having a small business? We can talk about investments and rental properties and crypto and all those things. You may find some interest in that. And what about family? Like that is that's another.

Speaker 1:

One of my three buckets is family. How do we raise good kids? How do we raise well-adjusted kids whenever there's always things pulling at us and the screen time and and the travel ball and all those kinds of things, and you know our jobs and all these other things are pulling at our time. How do we focus and make time for our children and help raise them to be as successful, if not more successful, than us? And it could be things like entertainment, like what am I into? What are you guys into into? Where can we sort of expose each other to new ideas and things that are all around us that we not even aware of, so that we could have a more fulfilling life. So that's kind of the direction that I'm going into.

Speaker 1:

I feel like the law is beautiful and I think you guys can always go in the old episodes and hear all these amazing lawyers and I'm still going to bring lawyers on time to time and talk about different aspects of law but it's not just going to be about law.

Speaker 1:

We're going to expand, because life is more than just law and so, because I have all these great relationships, I want to bring these great people on and I promise you you're going to get a nugget that you can apply in your life from each episode. So, if you've been a listener, thank you for continuing to listen. If this is your first episode, stick around, it's going to be great. And if you are a listener, encourage other people to join in and listen, because we are located in Lafayette, louisiana. We're in the heart of Acadiana, but we're going to be exposed to people from all around the country and we're going to bring a lot of cool stuff to you, curated by us, and we will not let you down. So thank you for being a listener. Hang on, I think you're going to love the changes, and thanks for the support.
